Chocolate Brownie recipe is a simple yet yummiest recipe. The trick lies in balancing the total bake time, to avoid over baking and keep it moist and chewy to get the best out of this recipe.

Walnuts are the preferred nuts in any brownie recipe, but I chose to replace them with almonds, which gives crunchy and little burnt almond flavour to the brownie recipe. Addition of lemon zest adds a fruity flavour to these Chocolate Brownies!

Ingredients Chocolate Brownie

Ingredients for Chocolate Brownie recipe:

All Purpose Flour (Maida) – 2 cups or 200 gm

Baking Powder – 1 teaspoon

Chocolate/cocoa powder – 2 teaspoon

Sugar – 1 ¼   cup or 125 gm

Eggs – 3 no.

Salted Butter – 60 gm

Olive Oil – 50 ml

Natural vanilla essence – ½ teaspoon

Roasted Almonds – 50 gms

Orange zest – 1 teaspoon

Preparation of Chocolate Brownie recipe batter:

  • Sieve together flour, chocolate powder and baking powder in a plate or bowl and keep it aside.
  • Add 40ml Olive Oil and 60 gm butter and microwave them for 20 sec.
  • Note: Ensure that the butter does not melt but just gets soft.
  • Now add 3 eggs which are at room temperature and add sugar powder and mix them well.
  • Now add few drops of natural vanilla essence and and mix them well.

Chocolate Brownie batter

  • Pre heat the oven at 180 degree Celsius for 10-15 min. Spread butter paper in the bottom to prevent the brownies from sticking.
  • Now add flour, roasted almonds and orange zest in small portions and use flat spatula using cut and circle method to mix the brownie batter evenly.
  • Now pour the brownie mix in cake mold and place the dish in preheated oven and bake at 180 degree for 35-40 min.

  • Remember to not over bake the brownies.

  • Take out the brownies from oven and allow it to rest on wire rack for 30 minutes till it cools down.

  • Cut into squares and serve them with a cup of coffee!
