Cranberry and Orange Bread Loaf – Sweet Bread
We all love to eat breads in any form be it in toasts, sandwiches or making pakodas. This recipe is sweet bread recipe which goes well with Coffee or Tea and of course what’s better than freshly baked yummy Orange and Cranberries bread with Honey topping……
Prep Time: 4-5 hrs
Baking Time: 35-40 min
Total Time: 6 hrs
All Purpose Flour (Maida) – 500 gm
Active Yeast – 1 ½ teaspoon
Sugar – 6 teaspoon
Salt – 1 ½ teaspoon
Olive Oil – 3 tablespoon
Milk (full cream) – 100ml
Dried Cranberries- 75 gm
Orange juice – 150 ml
Orange Peel (Sliced) – 25 gm
Preparation of Orange Cranberry Bread dough:
Warm 50 ml water and add 2 teaspoon of sugar and stir to dissolve the sugar.
Now add 1 ½ teaspoon of dry active yeast and keep it aside for 15 min till you see frothy mixture.
Note: Do not heat water above 80 degree Celsius as it would kill the yeast and yeast will not get activated.
Take all-purpose flour, olive oil and salt, cranberry, orange peel and 4 teaspoon of sugar in 1 large bowl and mix it well using hands.
Now add activated yeast and prepare soft dough using 100ml Orange Juice and milk.
Keep this dough in covered warm place for 90-120 minutes or till it doubles in size.
Puncture the dough and knead again using hands and keep it in warm place again for 60 min
Preparing Orange Cranberry Bread:
Grease your bread mold with Olive Oil and spread the dough in the mold evenly using your hands.
Give slits in the bread to give lovely design on your bread top.
Cover it with moist cotton cloth and let it rest for 45 min.
Baking Orange Cranberry Bread:
Preheat the oven to 170 degree Celsius for 10 min.
Put the Bread in preheated oven for 30-40 min till golden brown in colour.
Once done, pour balance 50ml Orange Juice and let it rest inside oven for 10 min so that the bread absorbs juice and it becomes moist and enhances flavor of your bread.
Remove from oven and let it cool on the wire rack.
Serving Orange Cranberry Bread:
Cut the Bread Loaf into slices using bread Knife.
Now pour generously with pure Honey. Your Orange Cranberry Bread is ready to be served.
Serve them with your favourite evening tea/coffee.
- If you find difficult to find Cranberry, you can replace them with any other raisin like Kishmish.
- Instead of Honey, put 2 teaspoon of Extra Virgin Olive Oil and warm it in Microwave Oven before serving. It tastes amazing……
